TIE A YELLOW RIBBON ROUND THE OLE OAK TREE, written by L. Russell Brown and Irwin Levine, was recorded by Dawn (Tony Orlando, Telma Hopkins and Joyce Vincent) for Bell Records in 1973. It debuted on Billboard's Hot 100 in March of that year and remained there for seventeen weeks, four of which it held the #1 spot. It received the Most Performed Song of the Year Awards from BMI in 1974 and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Song of the Year.
