What A Wonderful World

WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD, was written by George David Weiss and Bob Thiele, and was recorded by Louis Armstrong for Decca Records in 1967. Not until its appearance in the feature film Good Morning, Vietnam and its subsequent re-release on the film's A&M Records soundtrack in 1988, did it become a Billboard Top 40 hit. Louis Armstrong received a Grammy Hall of Fame Award for his recording of the song in 1999. A past-president of the Songwriters Guild of America, George David Weiss was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1984.
