PUFF, THE MAGIC DRAGON, written by Peter Yarrow and Lenny Lipton was first recorded by Peter, Paul and Mary for Warner Bros. Records in 1963. Climbing Billboard's Top 40 for eleven weeks, it peaked at the #2 position and earned the #1 spot on Billboard's Middle-Road Singles chart (easy listening). "Puff, the Magic Dragon" received a Grammy nomination for Best Recording for Children and later became the subject of three animated television specials, which earned Peter Yarrow and Emmy nomination.
